The most marketable version of cycle syncing gives every week a personality and every workout a hormonal destiny. The evidence is much less tidy. Reviews have found that average performance differences across menstrual-cycle phases are small, inconsistent and based on research of variable quality.
That does not make personal experience imaginary. Pain, heavy bleeding, migraine, disrupted sleep and fatigue can absolutely change how training feels. The distinction is between responding to your own symptoms and accepting a universal calendar that tells every woman when she should lift, rest or socialise.
Track only if the information helps. Notice energy, symptoms and recovery without grading yourself. Adjust a session when your body asks for it, not because an infographic assigned the day a colour.
Significant pain, very heavy bleeding, missed periods or a marked change in your cycle deserves proper medical attention. A wellness routine should never normalise symptoms that need care.
Use your cycle as information—not as a set of rules.
